Rally for Navy SEAL McCabe
Citizens came to the defense Tuesday of a hometown hero accused of assaulting an Iraqi detainee. Waving American flags and chanting Save our SEALS, the crowd gathered at Hood Park to support Perrysburg native Matthew McCabe, one of three Navy SEALs facing court-martial for allegedly punching Ahmed Hashim Abed, after capturing him in September.
Navy SEALs Rally
The group's districts, of which there are currently two - 5 and 9 - are organized according to U.S. congressional districts. Mr. LeRoux and his father, Ron LeRoux, 43, of Perrysburg Township, organized District 5 last fall.
Jan 11, 2010Navy SEAL trial to be held in Iraq
The case has sparked a huge amount of support for the SEALs. When Huertas, Keefe, and Matthew McCabe made their first court appearence, crowds of supporters from around the country came to Naval Station Norfolk to support the three. Johnathan Keefe and Julio Huertas are both charged with helping to cover up an alleged assault on a suspected terrorist. Today Navy Judge Tierney Carlos said the two will see their accuser face to face. The judge moved the trial from Naval Station Norfolk to Camp Victory in Iraq.

We want to stress to everyone that these are not protests, but instead rallies to show support for these 3 brave warriors. As Scott Taylor put it, ''We are not against the military, we are supporting our boys. We stand against the political correctness being placed upon our brave men and women in a war zone. We agree that what these warriors are being alleged to have done warrants nothing more than someone telling you to stop. We applaud their brave actions in capturing this terrorist who was responsible for planning, killing, mutilating, and hanging 4 American citizens from a bridge in Fallujah. This then caused the invasion of Fallujah, costing many more American lives. Kudos to all of you out there showing leadership and standing by these men.''
Please bring signs, flags and anything else that will help show support for these guys and make yourself visible.
Also, please help us spread the word about these Rallies. You can RSVP and invite friends on Facebook by going to: Jan 19 Navy SEALs Support Rally - OPERATION S.O.S. Contact your local media and let them know you're involved. Call your local radio stations and see if they'll help sponsor your event. There are all kinds of ways to get the media involved, so roll up your sleeves and let's push this hard and heavy over the next week!
